Hepatitis D virus (HDV) is a defective negative-strand RNA virus, which must rely on hepatophilic DNA viruses such as hepatitis B virus to provide a shell for it to replicate. Therefore, hepatitis D is an infectious disease caused by HDV and HBV. The disease has a worldwide distribution, especially in southern Italy is highly endemic. The developing countries have a higher rate of virus infection, which has the basis for causing pneumonia.	Hepatitis D diagnostic products	https://corelab.creative-biogene.com/hepatitis-d.htm
